What is Independent Living?

Independent Living is for seniors who are able to take care of themselves and live independently as they age, including normal task s of daily living such as eating, bathing and taking medication. Whether seniors live alone or not, they are able to manage daily living on their own in a location of their choosing, often with support and available resources as needed. In addition, Independent Living residents do not require routine or continuous personal assistance and care services.

What is the Monthly Rent?

The available rental units  are targeted for Low Income Elderly who are 55 years of age and older.  The Monthly Rent will vary based on tenant income and deductions (elderly, disabled, travel, etc) claimed on a completed housing application.   Rent subsidies are available for qualified tenants. The total monthly rent will not exceed 30% of adjusted tenant’s income.

What is included in the monthly fee?

The monthly rent includes, electric, water, sewer, emergency fire system, interior/ex­terior pest control, and routine and preventative maintenance costs.

Is there any assistance available for monthly rent?

Yes, there is a limited amount of rental subsidy available for qualified applicants.  This assistance will be based on funding availability.

What is the total square footage?

The One Bedroom apartment is 980 Square Feet.
The Two Bedroom apartment is 1070 Square Feet.

Will I be able to customize my home?

Permanent structural changes are not allowed; however additions such as wall mounts, pictures and window coverings are acceptable.  If unauthorized structural changes occur, the tenant will be responsible for the expenses  to return the apartment to its original condition.

Are we allowed to have pets?

Pets are not allowed.

Is there parking?

There is ample parking spaces available for KCILC Residents.  Visitors may park on a short term basis.  No abandoned vehicle will be allowed on the premises. There will be designated parking for tenants with disabilities.

What are the Office Hours?

The KCILC Housing Department is located in the Administration Building 167 at the Main Hospital Campus in Tuba City, AZ.  TCRHCC Housing Department Office Hours are 8:00 am to 5:00pm  Monday to Friday. Closed during all major holidays.

Is there Housing Available for Individuals with Disabilities?

Yes, three (03) units are available for tenants with physical disabilities including hearing or visual impairment.

Are there Housing Rules and Policies?

Yes, there are Rental Policies and Procedures.  This will be provided at the time of orientation.  Policies include but are not limited to required Renters Insurance, interim and annual income recertification, and occupancy standards.

Will there be any Contracts or Rental Tenancy Agreements?

Yes, a Tenancy Agreement will be required for each tenant prior to move-in.
